You Live in My Dream State Tyler the Creator See You Again
Despite the everlasting Sacramento summer heat, the 2d almanac TBD Fest was a peachy success with an expected 30,000 attendees during the 3-day upshot over the weekend.
The plow out definitely felt that way when making my style through the ocean of people to watch Porter Robinson's breathtaking ready at the main stage right next to the Tower Bridge. Seeing our city's music and arts culture grow with each yr is what makes me and so excited and proud about seeing TBD's succees. Every twelvemonth more and more people are interested in getting involved and attending, despite Sacramento'south reputation for having small a live music and entertainment scene.
TBD'southward 2nd twelvemonth as a 3-day music and arts festival felt like a scaled down crossbreed between Coachella and Burning Man with the dirt terrain, interactive fine art, and stellar stage and sound production. Those who braved the heat, dust and the oversupply, got to enjoy a finely curated line-upward with a diverseness of genres ranging from up-and-coming artists to festival main phase veterans.
TBD also faced some of the challenges that often come up with big scale events and massive crowds like insanely long lines for the water refill station and port-o-potties, and having sparse shaded lounging spaces for attendees enduring the Sacramento summer oestrus.
While improving some of those things are recommendations to festival organizers for next year, TBD Fest notwithstanding has definitely made huge improvements since their beginnings as a one-day hotel political party. This year there was a greater sense of excitement, and felt like I was having reunion subsequently reunion with different friends I oasis't seen in awhile who are also local to Sacramento.
Overall, the festival felt like a successful production of Sacramento finally harnessing it's creative potential and instilling pride in locals who finally accept the adventure to exist a part of something bigger in the city.
